Meet the Team: Church Studio Sound Engineer, Mike Prado

Headshot, Mike

For all intents and purposes, Mike Prado is a native Tulsan. Born at St. Francis in Tulsa, Oklahoma and reared in Owasso, Oklahoma. Mike had a very typical high school experience between skateboarding and his heavy metal band.

His passion for music led him to Orlando and Full Sail University, where he pursued a degree in Music Production. After graduation, Mike honed his skills through internships at prestigious recording studios, including Nothing Studios and Piety Studios with Mark Bingham and John Fishback in New Orleans. Following Hurricane Katrina, Mike relocated to Arizona, continuing to refine his craft at both major and small studios from New Orleans to Tucson.

Mike’s expertise extends beyond the studio walls; he’s also commanded front-of-house sound at renowned venues and events like Cain’s Ballroom, Hotel Congress, and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra. His client list reads like a who’s who of the music industry, including names like John Mooney, Little Freddie King, Allen Toussaint, Trombone Shorty, and Jon Batiste, to name just a few.

In addition to his impressive client roster, Mike has hosted and recorded the series “Live at Studio C” in Tucson, featuring artists such as Ziggy Marley, Sara Bareilles, Andrew Bird, Matt Kearney, and Citizen Cope. He’s also shared his expertise on audio engineering topics at various conferences and panels.

With a 20-year career spanning from teaching vocational-level technical audio classes to collaborating with Grammy-winning singers, Oscar-nominated films, and Billboard hits, Mike Prado brings a wealth of experience and skill to The Church Studio. We’re thrilled to welcome him home to Tulsa and to The Church Studio team!

When you choose The Church Studio, you’re not just choosing a recording space – you’re choosing to collaborate with experienced professionals in the field!
