RITA COOLIDGE | LEGACY ARTIST MEMOIR EXPERIENCE

You’ll be up close and personal to legendary artist, Rita Coolidge for this unique memoir experience. Known as “Delta Lady”—inspired by Leon Russell’s 1970’s song; Rita will share stories about her life, music, and career. Hosted by Teresa Knox in front of an intimate audience of only 100 attendees, you’ll enjoy this personal discussion in the studio’s gallery. All attendees will receive a signed copy of Rita’s memoir, “Delta Lady: A Memoir”

Rita-inspired songs include:  Leon Russell’s “A Song for You” and “Delta Lady;” Stephen Stills “Cherokee.” Furthermore, she co-wrote the iconic songs—“Superstar” and the piano coda to “Layla.” One of the most famous rock and roll backup singers of all time, Rita sang for Eric ClaptonJoe Cocker, and Stephen Stills, before finding fame as a solo artist with such hits as “We’re All Alone” and “(Your Love Has Lifted Me) Higher and Higher.”

“Delta Lady: A Memoir” follows her story from Lafayette, Tennessee to becoming one of the most sought after rock vocalists in LA in the 1970s, Delta Lady chronicles Rita Coolidge’s fascinating journey throughout the ’60s-’70s pop/rock universe.

In her subsequent career comprising five decades and millions of record sales, Rita captivated audiences with her signature hits “We’re All Alone,” “The Way You Do the Things You Do,” “All Time High” and “(Your Love Has Lifted Me) Higher and Higher.” And in a remarkable eight-year romantic and artistic marriage for the ages, she and former husband Kris Kristofferson earned multiple Grammy Awards.

The Church Studio is redefining live events – bringing a thrilling experience to a very finite group of 100 guests in the gallery of The Church Studio. Rita Coolidge will be here on December 3rd at 3:00 PM with the doors opening at 2:00 PM. The Church Studio, a legendary state-of-the-art recording studio, archive, and historic landmark has developed a series of rare but highly curated, intimate events showcasing legacy artists. Each will undeniably be a “bucket list” level event.
