The Church Studio Archive highlights the unique artistry and worldwide cultural significance of Leon Russell, Shelter Records, and the Historic Church Studio. Housed at The University of Tulsa’s Helmerich Center for American Research, the archive includes decades of never-before-seen handwritten manuscripts, notebooks and correspondence; films, videos, photographs and artwork; memorabilia; personal documents; unrecorded song lyrics and chords.

ACCESS TO THE CHURCH STUDIO ARCHIVE

Materials in The archive are available to view exclusively on-site at the Helmerich Center for American Research in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Due to high demand, access to the archive will only be granted to individuals with qualified research projects, and only by appointment.

If you wish to discuss your project with our librarian or make an appointment to access materials, please complete and submit the Research Associate Application form to librarian@bobdylanarchive.com You will then be asked to consult The Church Studio Archive Finding Aid in order to create and submit a list of the specific items you wish to access.
